Good thinking, but no, it's not the Chancellor either...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest In Search of the Castaways? The ship in the storm doesn't really look like the Duncan but it could theoretically contain all three scenes.

This is a tough one... phileasfogg said In Search of the Castaways, but I'm having trouble placing some of those pictures there...
It's tough, because one tends to try to fit the picture to main incidents in the novel, but maybe they are illustrating a minor subplot.
While I wait for another illustration, I'm going to have a go too, with another maritime novel that could fit some of that... The Sea Serpent (The Yarns of Jean-Marie Cabidoulin). Although I cannot place that cave there, but it could be, after all, Cabidoulin told a lot of stories, and I don't have that novel very fresh in my mind.

OK, I'll post another illustration featuring the same character that was in picture 3. (Pictures chosen explicitly to make it a bit harder to guess; as you say, not going with the main incidents...)

Oh! That looks like Ayrton when he was found in Part II of the Mysterious Island! Although I cannot place the second image of the ship in the storm anywhere in that novel, I will go with The Mysterious Island. The cave in the first photo could be Granite House.

You've guessed it. Second image is not a storm, but the pirate brig being blown up by Nemo.

Didn't want to include an illustration of the balloon, or the nitroglycerin, or the Nautilus, as those are too strong give-aways.

You've guessed it. Second image is not a storm, but the pirate brig being blown up by Nemo. Ah, ok that makes sense. I definitely did not recognise either of the men as Ayrton in the third photo, but the scraggly beard and the fact that he is in a loincloth in the last image was a big hint. You did well with that!

Smart recognizing Ayrton. I guess those weird figures in the background of the Ayrton picture are monkeys? Either that or the perspective is playing a trick, because they seem very small.
The image of the ship being destroyed had me stumped. Look at the guys being blown away in the air. My thoughts for a moment went to Mysterious Island, but the ship's flag didn't seem a pirate one (not that pirates are forced to use one), and I didn't pursue it. Oh well, this one defeated me, and it's such a well-known novel. Good job on that one, both the poster and the guesser.
Now on to the latest one... For a moment I had nothing, but then that second picture rang a bell and now I think I have a good theory, but I'll wait until tomorrow to give others a chance to look at the pictures and butt in.

Honestly, if I didn't recognise Ayrton I don't think I would have gotten it, but the copy of Mysterious Island that I have has an image of Ayrton looking pretty much exactly like that, I think from the chapter where they first find him. That was a really hard one! The ship threw me off completely to the point where I didn't even consider Mysterious Island at first.

Ok, the rng has selected a book and I have selected three photos... All right, so my guess is The Chase of the Golden Meteor. If I'm guessing right, it's a curious coincidence that we are getting so many posthumous novels. Anyway, that second picture seems to me the scene where the main characters are telling the curious people who want to see the meteor that this land is private property and they can't enter. The first picture then would be the ships arriving, carrying many passengers eager to see. And there were bankers in the novel too, which would be the third picture...

It is yet another posthumous novel. I haven't read this one so I tried to pick pictures that might obscure the plot a bit.

By the way, I have edited the first post in the thread to add a list of novels already done, as help for those who want to choose a book to post illustrations, so that they can avoid repeats. I'll keep updating the list as more books are chosen.
